A Rhode Island Perspective on LTC

My name is Jonny Petit, I am from Cumberland, Rhode Island and a member of DeMolay. The reason I am writing this article is because I would like to share my experiences from LTC at Lions Camp Pride. I would first like to say, I have never been camping or have ever been in a collaboration with Demolays from both Canada and the United States. I am very sporty as well, yet I had never been in a water polo match or volleyball game before this week.

I found my time at LTC to be a great experience. Not just knowledge-wise for me, but also courage-wise. I feel more comfortable coming back to Pawtucket Chapter while using the knowledge of what I learned here. I learned that brotherhood is a lifestyle, not just a name. I learned that we may have our ups and downs, but we will always have more ups than we have downs. Finally, I learned that together we can conquer our society’s judgementality if we work together as a team.

I had the time of my life at Region One LTC and strongly recommend it if you want to learn how to become better brothers, leaders, and people. People with strong influences are what you find here from all over the region.

I really hope I come back to learn more from the "Dad" advisors and their outstanding service, despite the early wakeup calls. We really had fun. I hope that whoever attends in the future learns more than a lesson, they learn a lifestyle. I really enjoyed the time here and hope to be back next year. We shared many laughs about salads and shirts, but we take things professionally, and look forward to applying what we learned this week.
