My Time at LTC When my chapter first told me about LTC, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go. Part of me wanted to spend the rest of my summer laying around playing video games and watching Rick and Morty. But my uncle and cousin (who were both in DeMolay) eventually convinced me to go. Even after sending in my paperwork, I wasn’t sure about whether I really wanted to go or not. On the way to Lions Camp Pride, I felt anxious beyond belief. This would be my first time staying away from home without my family. But fortunately, I had a great time. After arriving at Lions Camp Pride, I was still unsure about it all. But after a day of fun with my chapter, I started to feel at home. It took until the second day for me to finally feel fully comfortable at LTC, and I’m glad I did. I enjoyed everything except kickball (I hated that part!). I loved writing the Frogman articles for the Fi-Daily-Tas. But my absolute favorite part was my chapter, The Holy Flame. We may not have won any events, and we could never agree on anything, but I felt like we became a family. We laughed every day at the stupidest things, and we’d stay up late every night telling dumb jokes. I’d like to thank Andrew (The Ottoman Emperor), Kyle, AJ, Ryan, Konner (Canada with a K), Lucas, Nathaniel, Seth, and Dakota for a wonderful experience. And a special thank you to all of the LTC staff. This experience has truly changed me for the better and I look forward to my next time here. |
