Chapters Compete in DeMolay Survivor

This morning, the LTC campers participated in a relay race that emphasized teamwork and comradeship. The relay event involved collecting PVC pipe pieces at different stations around the camp as a reward for completing a challenge.

The challenges consisted of a canoe race from the shallow waterfront to the deep waterfront, a DeMolay trivia and ritual challenge, a volleyball challenge, and finally, the challenge of building the pipe, collecting water in buckets, and filling a small tub with water.

The first Chapter to complete this challenge in the race was the Brothers of New England Chapter here at LTC, and they worked together so well one would think they had been members of the same Chapter for a lot longer than just five days.

The relay was a lot of fun for all members involved, and more importantly, it taught them the lesson that fun events can be done without investing a lot of financial resources behind them. It cost the staff just $63.00 to put on this particular event, and it resulted in 90 minutes of entertainment and fun for the members.

We hope that the DeMolays in attendance here take that lesson back home and implement programs in their home chapters that are high in entertainment value while staying low on cost.
